Testimonies
Charitable Remainder Trust
“My wife and I are long-time supporters of In Touch and
want to support the ‘going preaching of the Gospel to all
the nations’ while reducing our taxes at the same time. At
first, we thought about selling our farm, paying the capital gains
taxes due and using the cash to fund a Charitable Remainder Trust. So,
we called the In Touch Foundation and talked with a representative.
He suggested that if we first created a Charitable Remainder Trust
and funded it with the farm (or a portion of it), we could completely
remove the value of the farm from our gross estate for federal
estate tax purposes, avoid paying the capital gains tax, receive
a generous charitable tax deduction, and an income for our lives
when the farm is sold from the trust. We also learned that we could
add some of our appreciated stock to the trust at any time with
the same effect. We were thrilled with the idea! My wife and I
chose to receive annual payments of 8% of the value of the trust,
paid quarterly. In the first year, we received a payment of $24,000.
Because the trust assets are revalued annually, the payments will
change and should grow over time. Now, we have the joy of knowing
that the principal of the trust plus any undistributed interest
will be used to fund the Great Commission through In Touch and
other like-minded ministries.”

Estate Design
“When I was a child, I can remember my grandmother faithfully watching
Dr. Stanley on television every week. Now that I am grown, I still watch Dr.
Stanley because he is filled with spiritual wisdom and it is obvious that he
is a great man of God. A few years ago, I inherited a number of properties
in different states. My estate is valued at approximately $2.5 million. Recently,
I met with an In Touch Ambassador who shared the estate design services of
the In Touch Foundation with me. He explained some of the legal terms and rules,
but more importantly, he encouraged me to seek the Lord’s will in the
planning of my estate as a necessary first step. He reviewed some principles
from the Bible about planning with the right motivation for my estate distribution.
He advised me on many of the personal and technical issues I would face during
the planning process. And, he even prepared a blueprint of my estate that my
attorney could use in drafting the necessary legal documents. I feel confident
that my testimony and the legacy my grandmother gave me will live on through
the ministry of In Touch as we fulfill the Great Commission together.”

Charitable Gift Annuity
“I have been a faithful supporter of Dr. Stanley for some time and decided
that I wanted to donate a large amount to In Touch now. However, as an 84-year-old
widow, I had concerns about my own financial security. I had some stock that
my husband and I had purchased many years ago which had appreciated to $150,000.
If I sold the stock, I would have had to pay a significant amount of capital
gains tax. Instead, I decided to use the stock to fund a Charitable Gift Annuity
with a payout rate of 9%. I avoided paying the tax, realized a large income
tax deduction, and now I receive an annual payment of $14,100 from my annuity,
a portion of which is tax-free. But, best of all, I know I am helping to further
the Great Commission of my Lord.”

Deferred Gift Annuity
“As a very successful 45 year old entrepreneur, I am beginning
to look toward my financial future. I want to ensure additional
income during my retirement years. As a current partner of In Touch,
I decided to establish a single life Deferred Gift Annuity.
I made a cash gift of $300,000 and requested that my annual payments
begin in 20 years. At age 65, I will begin receiving approximately
$49,500 per year, or $12,375 paid quarterly. I was also able to
claim a generous income tax deduction the year I made the gift.
Most importantly, I am leaving a Godly legacy by helping In Touch
to advance the Great Commission.”

Donor Advised Fund
“Facing potentially significant capital gains issues at
years end, my husband and I decided to establish our own Donor
Advised Fund and gave an outright gift of stock to the In Touch
Foundation for $50,000. Our Donor Advised Fund allows us to take
a tax deduction now, avoid paying capital gains, and recommend
how the money will be used over a period of years. During our lifetimes,
we can add to the fund at any time as we continue to give to In
Touch and a number of like-minded organizations, in our names,
as memorial gifts, or even anonymously. It’s like having
our own private foundation but without a lot of the administrative
expense and responsibility.”
